About Dr. Peter L. Karlsberg

Meet Dr. Karlsberg’s Team

Dr. Peter L. KarlsbergDr. Peter Karlsberg is a board-certified dermatologist, dermatologic and laser surgeon who has been in private practice in Ventura, California since 1995. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Karlsberg has been a clinical instructor in dermatology at the UCLA-affiliated Ventura County Medical Center Residency Program. He has extensive and advanced training in laser medicine and the latest skin rejuvenation techniques. Dr. Karlsberg lectures to both physician and public audiences on these subjects and trains other physicians on the latest minimally invasive skin rejuvenation techniques.

Dr. Karlsberg is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He has presented studies at numerous events and his research has been published in journals such as the Archives of Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology.

He is an Honors graduate of both Harvard University and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at San Francisco General, Moffitt Long, and San Francisco VAMC Hospitals. Following his internship, Dr. Karlsberg completed three years of specialty training in dermatology, Mohs surgery and reconstruction, and laser surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. While there he also served as the chief resident of the program.

Dr. Karlsberg was twice voted the "Best Dermatologist" in Ventura County by the VC Reporter’s Annual Reader's poll. He is the current President of the Tri Counties Dermatology Society and a National Speaker and Physician Instructor for Sanofi-Aventis in Sculptra ®and Scupltra Aesthetic®, for Bioform in Radiesse®, and for Allergan in Juvederm Ultra® and Ultra Plus®, all cosmetic fillers. Dr. Karlsberg has a special interest in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, employing fillers artistically to achieve a natural, more youthful appearance, and combining minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation techniques to create a healthier, more youthful appearance, with the safety, comfort and well-being of his patients, along with the highest level of personal integrity and professionalism, always being his utmost priorities.
